Producible with print approval!
Postcard board has a coated side and a rough side. The rough side can be written on.Unfortunately, your file does not tell us which side to write on.
Please answer the question by phone or email quoting your order number.
Brochures must be provided in their entirety as individual pages!
NOT producible with print approval!
For products that are stapled, we require them to be delivered as individual pages. Please send us the pages in sequence, starting with the title page, in one file or individually and numbered, each complete, including bleed. The pages are then placed next to each other in our pre-press department.
Or provide a separate file for cover and content.
Please do not forget to remove unnecessary pages from the file before final saving. Desired white pages must remain in the file.
When transmitting individual files, the file names must include the page number. Sorting by page numbers in the document will not be done.
It is not clear where the front page of your folder should be.
Producible with print approval (When specifying the title page)!
Your artwork files do not show which page is the cover after folding.
Explanation: For folders, we need the pages completely imposed and information about the cover page after folding.
Please let us know where the cover page should be - if necessary we will rearrange your job.
The spine of the cover is not centred in your print data.
Producible with print approval!
Explanation: If layout elements are placed incorrectly between the fold lines, the visual effect of your product will be negatively affected.
Correction note: Please note that the folds and designs must be placed exactly according to our specifications.
Tip: Please note that you may have to take the added bleed into account when placing your reference lines and that fonts should be placed at least 3mm away from the folded edge.
Your artwork files contain pages with different orientations.
The product can only be made by prior arrangement.
Explanation: Your multi-page pdf document contains pages with different orientation.
Correction note: .Please check your page settings. All pages should have the same size as well as the same orientation
Tip: If it is not possible for you to send us the corrected files, we will rotate pages in landscape format 90° counter-clockwise (ascending font) by default. However, we need your explicit approval for this.
Your design is sometimes too close to the binding
Producible with print approval!
A margin of approx. 10mm to the binding edge is recommended to ensure a balanced visual effect. Scrolling creates a kind of broken edge.
We can also print with the PDF you send us. However, for this we need an explicit approval from you to print the available artwork.
Your fonts are too close to the Wire-O binding
Producible with print approval!
A margin of approx. 20mm to the binding edge is recommended to ensure a balanced visual effect.
We can also print with the PDF you send us. However, for this we need an explicit approval from you to print the available artwork.
Your fonts are in the safety margin.
Producible with print approval!
Fonts or design elements should not be placed in the safety margin. The layout looks cramped.
Please note that in the case of bleed, the spacing of your file will need to be taken into account accordingly. When adding e.g. 3mm margin (bleed), fonts and graphics should be + 3mm away from the print edge of your print template according to the safety margin on the data sheet.
Colours, background images and layouts must be integrated into the bleed area to avoid so-called flashes in case of any cutting tolerances.
In the case of artwork files without any bleed or after scaling, we reserve the right to apply bleed by mirroring. In the process, the corresponding millimetres are mirrored from the inside to the outside at the cutting edge.
We can also print with the PDF you send us. However, for this we need an explicit approval from you to print the available artwork.
Design and layout elements are not aligned centrally between the folds.
Producible with print approval!
Explanation: If layout elements are placed incorrectly between the fold lines, the visual effect of your product will be negatively affected.
Correction note: Please note that the folds and designs must be placed exactly according to our specifications.
If it is not possible to place the folds or designs correctly using the templates, please let us know.
Tip: Please note that you may have to take the added bleed into account when placing your reference lines and that fonts should be placed at least 3mm away from the folded edge.
You can find suitable templates on our website under the templates for download
Your fonts are in the edge fold.
Producible with print approval!
Explanation: Fonts or design elements should not be placed in the safety margin. The layout looks cramped.
Correction note: A margin of at least 15mm all around is recommended to ensure a balanced visual effect.
Please note that the safety margin of 5mm from the edge fold must also be taken into account accordingly in your artwork.
Bleed missing
Producible with print approval!
To enable borderless printing, we require a bleed in your artwork files. This is a coloured area around the printed image where the cutting takes place. Without bleed, white lines may appear in the edge area during cutting, so-called flashes.
The bleed should always be filled with the background area or background of the print image.
Please also note the required safety margin in the print image to avoid important design elements or texts from being cut.
Bleed is too small
Producible with print approval!
Explanation: The bleed is required in offset printing to enable borderless printing. If the bleed is too small, white lines may appear in the edge area (flash) when cutting your printed matter, as the machine may have cutting tolerances.
Tip: The bleed should always be filled with the background area or background of the print image.
We also recommend that you leave a minimum of 3mm, preferably 5mm, bleed from the trim edge for fonts and design elements to ensure a balanced visual effect (including bleed, 5 to 7mm from the print edge).
One or more graphics were placed with too little bleed.
Producible with print approval!
Explanation: One or more graphics were placed with too little bleed. The bleed is required in offset printing to enable borderless printing. If the bleed is too small, white lines may appear in the edge area (flash) when cutting your printed matter, as the machine may have cutting tolerances.
Correction note: Place all elements in such a way that you fully utilise the bleed. Graphics, images, coloured areas, etc. must therefore extend 2mm beyond the cutting edge. (for example: A4: 210 x 297mm + 2mm bleed = 214 x 301mm)
Your fonts are too close to the bleed.
Producible with print approval!
When placing images and text, leave a minimum of 3mm, ideally 5mm, from the cutting edge to ensure a balanced visual effect.
The margin for bleed must be taken into account accordingly.
For 2mm bleed, fonts and graphics should be 5 - 7mm away from the print edge of your artwork.
Design and layout elements are not aligned centrally between the folds.
Producible with print approval!
Explanation: If layout elements are placed incorrectly next to the fold lines, the visual effect of your product will be negatively affected.
Correction note: Please note that the folds and designs must be placed exactly according to our specifications.
If you are unable to place the folds correctly using the templates, please let us know.
Tip: Please note that you may have to take the added bleed into account when placing your reference lines and that fonts should be placed at least 3mm away from the folded edge.

Your fonts are too close to the fold / crease.
Producible with print approval!
A margin of at least 3mm, ideally 5mm, from the fold edge is recommended to ensure a balanced visual effect.
With polyurethane reactive glue, the cover is creased before binding. The creasing is located on the cover page and U4 (reverse side) 8mm next to the break when closed.
To avoid the creasing going through text or images on the front cover or back cover we recommend a margin of at least 10mm (best 15mm) from the break.
The orientation of your pages are wrong.
Producible with print approval!
Explanation: In the case of multi-page printed products, the pages are normally placed towards each other in such a way that they can be read by turning them in the direction of reading. (For portrait over the long side, for landscape over the short side). For pages with different orientations (e.g. postcards with image in portrait on the front and standard text/address field on the reverse), rotate the reverse 90° counterclockwise (ascending text)..
Correction note: Please check your page settings. All pages should have the same size and orientation and be positioned correctly to each other.
Tip: If it is not possible for you to send us corrected files, we can turn the pages for you according to our standard so that the reading direction is 90° counter-clockwise with respect to the binding/turning page. For folded cards and brochures, the last page is rotated 90° clockwise.
However, we require your explicit written approval for this.
